Armed Forces Chiefs Meet Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus to Discuss Election Security

Bangladesh’s armed forces chiefs met Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming national election. They assured full preparedness to ensure a peaceful and fair voting process.

The Chiefs of Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force held a meeting with the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, at his official residence, Jamuna, on Saturday (November 1) evening.

The meeting began around 7 p.m. and was attended by Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral M. Nazmul Hassan, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, and National Security Adviser Dr. Khalilur Rahman.

During the discussion, the Chief Adviser instructed the heads of the three armed forces to take all necessary measures to ensure national security and to maintain peace and order during the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, scheduled to be held in the first half of February.

The service chiefs briefed the Chief Adviser about the military’s comprehensive preparations for assisting in the smooth and peaceful conduct of the national election.

Dr. Yunus reaffirmed that the interim government is committed to holding a free, fair, neutral, peaceful, and festive national election.

Additionally, the three chiefs invited the Chief Adviser to attend the Armed Forces Day celebration on November 21.
