Morocco Sets World Record with 16 Consecutive Wins, Surpasses Spain

Morocco’s national football team broke Spain’s world record for the most consecutive international wins. Their 1–0 victory over Congo marked their 16th straight win and completed a perfect World Cup qualifying campaign.

Morocco’s national football team has made history by achieving the longest winning streak in international football, breaking Spain’s previous world record.

In the African World Cup qualifiers, Morocco defeated Congo 1–0, securing their 16th consecutive victory. This win took them past Spain’s long-standing record of 15 straight wins set between June 2008 and June 2009.

The Atlas Lions also wrapped up the qualifiers with a perfect record, winning all eight matches in Group E and confirming their spot in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Morocco last failed to win in March of last year, when they drew goalless against Mauritania in a friendly. Since then, they have triumphed in seven World Cup qualifiers, six Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, and three friendlies—scoring 50 goals and conceding only four during the streak.
